The Old Homestead IS NOW OPEN for summer and fall guests. I am fully vaccinated, and if you also are vaccinated you do not need to comply with Vermont quarantine regulations, and you are welcome at this Inn. If it is your time for you to travel, I am READY to greet you, IF your are vaccinated!
These are still unusual times as we keep ourselves and our guests safe from COVID-19 Viruses. Therefore, we will accept NO one night reservations. Rates are designed for a two-night stay with a third and fourth night at an enticingly lower rate. We encourage you to use The Old Homestead as a base and day trip in all directions. See the Activities Pages in our web site for ideas and call me for details.
We will be booking only two rooms at any given time, with a vacant day between guests for complete cleaning and air exchange.
Cancellation policy : within three weeks of reservation we will charge you half of your total stay, unless an emergency such as death. If you must cancel more than three weeks ahead I will charge a $30 administrative fee. This is a small business. Please understand that cancellations adversely effect our operation.
Please Book the White Mountain Room or the Rose Garden Room, both premier rooms with private bathrooms and porches looking to the east — the New Hampshire Mountains. The Rose Garden Room is the only room with possibilities of a third person or a child. It can also be made into twin beds with prior arrangements.
LaFavorite may be paired with the Jenny Lind as a suite, sharing the same bathroom but each having your own sink. This is a great option for single friends traveling together and wishing each their own room. Call me if this suits your plan. However neither are available until mid December.
September and October -- times of Vermont's beautiful changing landscape -- Fall Foliage Color -- On your bucket list?
Peak color used to occur between October 3-5th. My tracking in the last 20 years has put it closer to October 7-12. There will be color somewhere in the area from the end of September through the third week of October, and it is my job to put you on the best trails for leaf peeping. Keep your schedule flexible and stay long enough to sample the entire Kingdom. Our web site Activities pages will give you further ideas and our breakfast table yet more!
The Annual Fall Foliage Festival in our area has yet to be announced. It is a week in which each Village in the surrounding area has a chance to entertain you with events, tours, crafts, and food and is usually the first week of October. More details will be forthcoming on our web site when we see how COVID-19 will play out for 2021.
Best of travel planning to you.
